Sawnee Electrical Box Maintenance

Sawnee has scheduled a maintenance subcontractor from Florida to repaint or replace rusted boxes and replace damaged or faded warning labels. They are planning to have their subcontractor in Brookshade before the end of the year.

If you want Sawnee to determine whether to refurbish your electric box, please send an email to president@brookshade.org no later than October 9, 2020. Include your name, address, lot number and telephone number. We will collect and forward this information to Sawnee. And if necessary, they will contact you directly.

We believe this Sawnee project will improve the appearance of Brookshade. The board encourages affected homeowners to respond promptly so we can forward the information collected to Sawnee.

4TH OF JULY PARADE

The Social (distancing) Committee has organized a 4th of July parade and everyone is invited! To participate, decorate your bicycle, scooter, golf cart, etc. and meet at 10:30am on Saturday in the Hickory Oaks Court cul-de-sac. The parade will proceed from there to the pool at 10:45. If you live along the parade route, come outside and enjoy the parade. Following the parade, King of Pops (a popsicle cart) will be waiting for us in the pool parking lot from 11am – 12pm! Whether you participate or simply watch the parade, all are welcome to enjoy a delicious
treat outside while staying safely separate!

Pool Reminders:
Thanks to everyone for continuing to use the hand sanitizer stations. We have used almost 2 gallons since the pool opened! As cases rise across Georgia, we want to continue to keep the pool safe. Due to the pandemic, we set a maximum bather load of 50 to ensure neighbors can enjoy the pool comfortably and safely. We anticipate many families will use the pool over the holiday week and want to remind you that guests from outside the neighborhood are prohibited this year. Finally, please remember to take toys and towels when leaving. We appreciate your cooperation.

Hope to see you on the 4th!

POOL OPENS MAY 24TH

THE BROOKSHADE POOL WILL BE OPEN AT 12 NOON.

The pool season this year will be unique. In order for Brookshade Homeowners Association, Inc. to open the pool this season we must abide by pool guidelines established by the Fulton County Public Health Department, State of Georgia and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pool Committee and board are working with Sears Pool Management Consultants, Inc. to provide facilities that are consistent with these guidelines so that residents can enjoy the pool this season.

The BHOA cannot guarantee that there will be no-risk of exposure to or contracting an illness. Therefore, every person who enters the pool, clubhouse, and amenity area will do so at their own risk. It is imperative that each person follow the government guidelines to minimize the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

Until further notice, residents are prohibited from inviting non-resident guests to use the pool until the government rescinds its social distancing policy.

The BHOA must rely on the good judgment of all residents to maintain sanitary conditions and government mandated social distancing when using the facilities. Certain amenities and areas will reopen, subject to the rules and regulations provided in this document. If the Pool Committee or board receives complaints or observes violations that residents are failing to follow pool rules or COVID-19 government guidelines, the Association, through the Board of Directors, will undertake enforcement action against the violating owners, including but not limited to fining and suspension of access to the amenities.  Additionally, if there is a collective failure to abide by social distancing guidelines, the Board will be forced to close the pool.

VISIT OUR POOL WEBSITE PAGE TO DOWNLOAD & PRINT THE PANDEMIC POOL GUIDELINES AND COVID-19 POSTER RULES.

Should you have questions, comments or concerns about this information or wish to volunteer to work on the Pool Committee, please email: pool@brookshade.org

WM – **Urgent** Change of Service

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image002.png

Dear Valued Customer,
Because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Federal and State Declarations of Emergency have been issued that recommend non-essential employees shelter in place and work from home when possible to promote social distancing. As a result, Waste Management has significantly reduced its “field” work force and is focusing on the performance of essential services during this unprecedented emergency. Because of its importance to the health and safety of our society, solid waste collection and disposal is deemed an “essential service” in most instances, and so Waste Management’s employees dedicated to collecting and disposing of trash are in the field continuing to perform this critical function.

In order for Waste Management to maintain its focus on solid waste collection and disposal, and due to the reduced number of employees in the field, effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Waste Management is postponing the performance of the following services, which are
non-essential during this period of emergency:

  • Any trash/waste stream outside of the cart
  • Yard waste collection – grass clippings, brush, tree limbs, etc.
  • Bulk collection – furniture, mattresses, appliances, etc.
  • Spring and bulk clean-ups involving curbside service

When the Declarations of Emergency and social distancing recommendations have been eased and Waste Management’s work force returns to pre-pandemic levels, these services will be restarted. Waste Management will provide notice when the service(s) will resume.
We have been a part of this community for many years and know that together we will be resilient. Thank you for your partnership during this critical time.

Waste Mangement Update

Dear HOA Board and Property Managers,
At Waste Management, we are committed to putting people first. The health and safety of our employees, customers and communities is our highest priority.  Based on the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and federal, state and local agencies, Waste Management is taking necessary steps in response to social distancing recommendations, potential mitigation activity, and declared local states of emergency.  Effective March 18, 2020, we are temporarily closing residential call centers to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).  We are actively coordinating remote operations to serve our customers during this situation with the goal of resuming residential call handing as soon as possible.  Currently, there is no impact to your scheduled residential collection service. For the most up-to-date service information, please encourage residents to visit wm.com for the latest updates, to register for text and email alerts, and to chat with our virtual assistant. The COVID-19 situation is evolving daily. As circumstances change that may impact our ability to provide services as scheduled, we will provide updates to our customers and communities. Please cascade this information to your community.

RETAINING POND UPDATE

Starting in about a week, a crew from Engineering, Inc. will commence work on the four retaining ponds within Brookshade. The work is expected to last about eight weeks. The purpose is to ensure that the drainage canals and retaining ponds can handle the natural flow of runoff from the Brookshade community into natural spring beds, minimize erosion, and eliminate areas where stagnant water can accumulate. Required maintenance will include clearing of vegetation, repair of fences, adding rip rap to minimize erosion, and removing accumulated trash, tree clippings and yard waste. As such, the crew will need access to these areas, so please make sure that access to the drainage ponds from/through your yards is available, where needed and that pets do not prevent the crew from entering your property.
